Louis Vuitton Spring 2027 Ready-to-Wear
On the final day of Paris Fashion Week, October 6, 2026, Nicolas Ghesquière closed the season with Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2027 womenswear collection. He transformed the Louvre’s Cour Carrée into a retro-futuristic city: flying cars hovered overhead in the house’s Damier check and color-blocked stripes, and the runway was laid out like a race track. The set was a playful riff on the maison’s long-standing “Art of Travel” identity.
Ghesquière named the collection “Ergonomie,” and his show notes framed it around clothes shaped by how the human body is built, what it can do and how it moves. Speaking afterward, he said climate change had been on his mind, and he wanted fabrics so light they would feel like a second skin.
For all the sci-fi staging, the clothes themselves were grounded and easy to wear. Rigid tailoring gave way to fluid shapes: wide trousers slit high at the sides, featherweight jackets with relaxed sleeves and trailing panels, strappy dresses and sheer skirts. Colors stayed quiet, mostly blush pink, soft blue and white, punctuated by black-and-white checks and iridescent diamond prints. Logos took a back seat to cut, fabric and texture. Ghesquière’s love of history still surfaced, in leather jackets modeled on Victorian dressing robes and in polished black brogues worn with airy party dresses. Accessories were kept low-key, with small bags in cream and lemon and only occasional flashes of monogram.
The restraint was a clear departure from Fall 2026, when Ghesquière sent out exaggerated, almost otherworldly volumes.
The timing was significant, too. Just days before the show, President Emmanuel Macron named Ghesquière a Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur. And as Chanel and Dior enjoy the buzz around new creative directors Matthieu Blazy and Jonathan Anderson, Louis Vuitton is leaning on continuity: Ghesquière has led its women’s collections for nearly 13 years, outlasting periodic rumors of his exit. The front row included Zendaya, Emma Stone, Catherine Deneuve, Jennifer Connelly, Ana de Armas and Lisa.
